A week after franchise star Milla Jovovich tweeted that Resident Evil 6 is likely planned for 2015, the franchise director (and her husband) Paul W.S. Anderson has confirmed it's back in 2014. When asked for a clarification on timing for the sixth installment in the Screen Gems saga, the helmer told The Star he plans to begin shooting the sixth installment sometime this fall. That would set it up to be released sometime late summer of 2014, a date in which Sony set aside at the beginning of the year.
At the moment, Anderson is directing Sony TriStar's Pompeii. Set for a release on February 21, 2014, the story an enslaved Celtic gladiator who falls in love with a noblewoman on the eve of a massive volcanic eruption that destroys Pompeii. The disaster will also reunite him face-to-face with the man who slaughtered his family years earlier.
