With production already underway for Screen Gems' next installment, Resident Evil: Afterlife, the genre distributor has revealed an updated plot concept and the full cast to Shock Til You Drop. The latest official information for the film confirms earlier interview revelations that most of the film will take place in the Los Angeles area. Also noteworthy, despite previous quotes from Paul W.S. Anderson, is the absence of any Tokyo details though that doesn't mean we won't see the city in the film.

Set to be released in 3D theaters next summer, the film stars Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Spencer Locke, Wentworth Miller, Shawn Roberts, Boris Kodjoe, Kim Coates, Norman Yeung and Kasey Barnfield. Paul W.S. Anderson is returning behind the camera from a script he wrote.

Plot Concept: In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead leads them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.

Resident Evil: Afterlife will hit theaters August 27, 2010.

Not sure what to make of this movie.......the first one was good, the second was so-so, 3 was almost non watchable (even though I did) so what does that mean for this one???  Only time will tell!!

Personally I found the 3rd one better than the 2nd. We'll see.

I did enjoy 3 over 2. However neither was very good. So now we have a road trip movie with the gang from the 3rd. Well I would recommend first that they keep Alice with the others. The only way we care about them is when they are with the main character. Second stop with the shit of Alice saving everyone every time. I am sick of watching everyone get in over there heads and Alice waltzing in and saving them. Either let someone else do it or kill them. There is no tension because we all know she’s going to come through the glass window with a motorcycle, or throw a lighter or even better wait push off a wall and kick some zombie dog. I’m just saying find some new stuff please.

What ever happen to Jill Valentine from part 2?  Never was explaned.  I know Chris Refield is going to be in Afterlife but I would have liked to see leon Kennedy. I want more Lickers.

Kruge99- the help from that unexpected friend just may end up being Valentine- I am only speculating on that one but that is a gut feeling I have. As for the series itself I wait for this one on dvd.

Although I've enjoyed all 3 films I think they've gotten progressively worse. But I'm sure I'll end up at the theater with my 3D glasses on once this comes out

I just want them to make it more like the first and less over the top action and up the suspense but this is Anderson we are talking about so it will just be another hack movie. Besides it's too late now to make it more suspenseful, the movie execs will expect stupid action, hack dialogue, lame plot and Milla naked (which is the only possible good thing).

if they ever add leon it better be in a reboot. he doesn't deserve to jump into the mess of this franchise now. especially taking a backseat to alice' character. a reboot that is as close to resident evil 4 as possible.

I've liked all three so far but hope that the plot for this one picks up on the end of 3 instead of spinning entirely off into a new direction.  Either way I'm sure I'll see it.

I'm more worried though about the trend towards 3D.  As one of those rare people who can't watch 3D movies, due to eye problems, I'm starting to wonder if it won't be long until I can't go to the theater at all.
