Aniplex USA dropped a nice little surprise for fans last night, another one that is showing that they're getting a handle on the US market bit by bit after the launch of the Gurren Lagann movie releases, by announcing via their Facebook page and Twitter that they've acquired the Read or Die titles for US distribution:
Aniplex USA R.O.D -The Complete- Blu-ray box set will be released this winter!
Three OVA episodes and 26 TV episodes will be on 5 Blu-ray Discs.
Both Japanese and English dub will be included.

Read Or Die was originally released as an OVA series years ago and was licensed by Manga Entertainment in the US. After the success of the OVA, a full on TV series was created which was licensed and released by Pioneer/Geneon Entertainment. The franchise is one that fans have been calling for to be released back into the market again from the list of titles that Geneon once had license to, so this is definitely welcome news as it's a solid quality title in both its TV and OVA formats.
