What They Say
While her big sisters are out of town, Anita has the detective agency all to herself - and it doesn't take her long to get into trouble. Soon she's embroiled in a plan to retrieve a unique journal, the Clock Diary, from the criminal underworld. But the beautiful, devious book thief Lily the Reader Extraordinaire will stop at nothing to steal the diary for herself. Can the youngest Paper Sister crack the agency's most dangerous case alone? Or has time run out for the Clock Diary and Anita?

The Review
I'm much happier with the second volume of this series. This volume has a little more continuity with two stories taking multiple chapters to complete and the reappearance of a secondary character from the first volume. There is also a very sexy character introduced in this volume. Not only is she impressively top heavy like Michelle, but this new character also has an unedited bath scene with detailed nipples. Another bonus with this volume is the lack of any ridiculous stories such as the alien story from volume one.

Maggie and Michelle have to travel out of town for work, leaving Anita home alone. While her sisters are away, Anita receives a visit from a possible customer. The customer is a beautiful, yet nerdy woman who needs help retrieving a stolen book. Anita helps the woman retrieve the book in question, but then learns the woman is actually the thief known as Lily the Book Pirate at the book was never hers to begin with. Lily escapes with the book in question and Anita is forced to go up against Lily and her pet panther. Will Anita be able to best both Lily and her pet?

The Paper Sisters receive a visit from one of Michelle and Maggie's favorite authors, Kon Fu. Kon Fu is suffering from writers block and wants the girls to find the author who inspired him to become a writer. The missing author has not published a book in years and seems to have completely disappeared. This story has a few twists and ultimately an interesting ending. I will ultimately be satisfied with the Read or Dream series as long as the last two volumes are as good as volume two.
