Pixar tackling Doctor Strange? How can anyone say no to that. But would that be an "in-house" movie or just them providing their cgi services to someone else's script.

I can see Hilary Duff playing Gwen Stacy don't know about Black Cat though.

It would be nice if WB threw in a couple of easter eggs in the GL movie even if they have no plans of uniting the heroes in the immediate future. Just to acknowledge that they inhabit the same universe is a nice start IMO and just opens it up for hopefully a JLA movie in the future.

Boy, Ryan Reynolds is going to take the title of most comic book roles from Chris Evans at this rate. Just make sure you squeeze Deadpool in there before that RIPD, which doesn't sound all that great to me or original really

Yeah, Duff could pull off Gwen Stacy or Harry's future wife Liz for that matter...

An animated pixar film of Dr. Strange. Almost sounds too good to be true.

I like the way Marvel connects their films with the shared universe and a little easter egg here or there would be nice in Green Lantern but I want to movie to stand on it's own. I think Iron Man 2 got a little croweded and the filmmakers were so focused on future movies it's almost like they forgot about the movie at hand. I thought Iron Man 2 was good but could have been better and I'm hoping GL or the Flash doesn't fall into that trap.

lantern sounds good but not sure about the flash  it would have to be a really good story more plot driven than effects unless they made it a group outing like say green arrow, green lantern, the flash  -just someone else to help the plot, really liked the the show when it was on ,tv might be a better venue

Pixar Ant-Man cool. Pixar Dr. Strange, not so much. Dr. Strange should be dark and spooky not bright and cuddly. I really don't need to see Dormammu as a goofy Skeletor type villain... I really cant understand how anyone who is familiar with Dr. Strange can think this is a good idea. I have no doubt that Pixar could make a really cool Strange film, but unless we see Pixar make a huge departure from their standard fare in terms of character design and tone I'd rather see Dr. Strange as a live action film.

I'll be getting the special edition for sure from Target. Not sure what to say about the DJ fellow. Drugs are bad, who doesn't know that already. It is sad, but it's hard to feel sorry for people to o.d. these days.

I think Dr.Strange being animated would be the best way. I enjoyed the Marvel released movie awhile back. And what has PIXAR made what hasn't been awesome?

Calibur454 9/8/2010 2:34:09 PM

Dr strange is something that would be interesting to see if pixar was behind it I would at least wait fro a trailer before commenting on it.

I will be at movie stop for the midnight release party of Iron Man 2- Iron Man 2 RULES!!!!

Green lantern 2- we havent even seen a green lantern one trailer yet. I am not holding my breath

As for the flash I hope it is better than the last attempt they did with the tv show.

@Wiseguy- Yea I could see duff playing Gwen but not black cat. Black Cat always had that middleage hot woman vibe about her.

I suppose it's possible that Pixar is looking to expand their film making into new directions.  Since they began, Pixar has stayed in their comfort zone of kids movies that parents can enjoy as well.  While this is no doubt a very profitable market in the movie industry, it's also very limiting in what you can do in any given story.  Dr. Strange would be an interesting direction to go in, due to the subject matter.  Since Strange usually battles with non-human opponents who are easily identified as being totally evil, any story involving the character could potentially be done without actually killing anyone.  The evil spirits or demons or whatever don't die, but are instead simply banished to the dark dimension which spawned them.  I don't know if they could manage to get a PG rating, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility.  I suspect that any decent story would be too intense for that to happen, but Pixar could still pull off a PG-13 with no problems.

It might also be possible that Pixar isn't planning on using Dr. Strange for a feature length movie.  They do an animated short before all of their full length films, so perhaps they simply plan on making one of those using a Marvel character.  A Dr. Strange short could probably be done at the PG level.  That way they can see what kind of reception they get.  If they get a positive response, Pixar can look into the possibility of doing a feature.  If not, so be it.

Hilary Duff in the Spider-Man movie... I thought there was a reason why she stopped appearing in movies. What happened to those other potentials they listed for Parker's love interest?

For a second there, I thought it was going to talk about Reynolds pursuing the role of The Flash, too. :P At the rate he's going, he just might be cast as every comic book character from here on out.

Calibur454: It was the silver hair. Always made Black Cat look older.
