'Transformers 2' shattering home vid records?  More! Hitting like 20,000 pies to the face, it's your Comics2Film 9.10.23!

TRANSFORMERS 2 Shatterign Home Video Records?

A bit of 'Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen' hype from MichaelBay.com: Webmaster Nelson posts unconfirmed reports that the movie has sold some 4 million copies in its first couple days of release. Fans are writing in complaining of complete sellouts in major cities.

Watch for industry stats early next week.

Thanks to Matador for the submission.

Baker Set for SPIDER-MAN 4 Return

While it may or may not be an indication of the villain we'll see in 'Spider-Man 4', UGO scored the news that actor Dylan Baker is set to appear in the film.

Appearing at New York’s Walter Reade Theater to present the film 'Trick 'r Treat' with director Michael Dougherty, Baker  said he'd received a call about the planned Spidey sequel earlier that day.

Fans know, of course, that Baker has appeared in the previous two films in the franchise as Dr. Curtis Connors, Peter Parker's some time mentor who inadvertently transforms himself into the monstrous Lizard. So will he finally scale up for the sequel?

Apparently Dougherty joked about the actor's ongoing status as being just a background element in the movie and Baker said that's what it will be this time out. However UGO states that the tone of Baker's comment was unclear. He may has said it straight, indicating he's up for another minor part. Or he may have said it facetiously, disguising the notion that he is the primary super villain this time out.

Thanks to Matador and fft5305 for the submission.

RED Ready To Roll in January

Comics2Film at Mania.com has received exclusive word that the filmed adaptation of Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner's Wildstorm comics series 'Red' will roll cameras this January.

Principle photography on the Robert Schwentke film is slated for Toronto. It'll move to Hollywood's new hot spot, Louisiana, following that.

The movie stars Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman, with Willis playing an aging black-ops agent whose retirement is interrupted by a high-tech assassin.

Word is that the script for the film (by Jon and Erich Hoeber) uses the comics as a starting point, but fills in the blanks on the Ellis' sparely-written story. At three issues, the series left much of the Willis character's back story in question, and the whys and wherefores of the assassination attempt are very vague.

There are still about four roles left to be cast. Word is the producers at Summit are in final negotiations on two of those parts.

Stay tuned for more on 'Red' as it develops.

Why the F*^$k are people buying TF2?  I want it to fail for a better movie.

If they have not used Lizard by now they probably won't.

Bryzarro 10/23/2009 4:37:22 AM

Because unlike you some people enjoyed TF2.  It wasn't perfect and a bit long but they had some kickass transformers in it.

I'm getting my copy and plus if your a parent of a kid you'd know why it would be purchased.  My little guy loved it.  At least the action parts.  And it wouldn't fail because the studio is fully behind Bay regardless of what all the many....MANY haters say.

Matador 10/23/2009 4:57:34 AM

Dazzler - It wasn't perfect but it sure hell was fun I'll be getting my copy over at Wal-mart and it's only 20 bucks! Besides would you rather have been watchiing Titanic or Pearl Harbor 4 hours of long drawn out love triangles that any action you see takes place the last five minutes of the movie. For shame.

By the way you all hear that Sam Jones aka Pete Ross from Smallville got busted for drug selling and facing 20 years jail time?  It's kinda ironic since when he left Smallville as Pete Ross left as a douche. Now in real life well you get the idea.

Baker as probably been sworn to secrecy as to what's going to happen with his character.

galaga51 10/23/2009 5:41:31 AM

If sales are that good, maybe I'll actually rent TF2.  Let's see my queue is 394 long, so I should see it sometime in 2018.

If the don't use The Lizard, maybe they'll at least set it up for a following film.

xenomorph 10/23/2009 6:50:58 AM

I already ordered my copy of TF2 from amazon. it should be at my house on saturday.

It's kind of obvious by now that the lizard is going to be the next villian in Spider-Man 4. Sam Raimi already said in an earlier interview that he likes the character.

Darkknight2280 10/23/2009 6:51:19 AM

DAZZLER people are buying it because when people LIKE things they tend to buy them. Just like asking why do people buy beer or why do they do anything, usually either out of necessity or becasue they want or like something. Not really that hard to grasp man. Need to buy my copy this weekend...cause i WANT IT! :)

Darkknight2280 10/23/2009 6:53:22 AM

Not sure Lizard would fit in the universe Raimi has created though. HEs a big giant lizard dude ina  seemingly sort of real world. I think Mysterio would be better! Illusions can be created with technology. But If the do use the Lizard it would be cool too. So either way i'll be happy :)

nemesis1_57 10/23/2009 7:17:29 AM

Doc Connors might be a backround role in SM 4 but I bet at the end of the movie it will probably lead to the Lizard

Wiseguy 10/23/2009 7:31:27 AM

Darkknight, what the hell are you talking about my friend, a seemingly sort of real world in Spidey? You mean the one with a man that turns into sand? The one where an alien parasite can transform its host into Venom? The one where are genetically altered spider gives a man spider super powers? Yeah, you're right a giant Lizard would never fly in this world

Dazzler, even if no one bought T2 dvd it wouldn't matter or did you miss the tally it accumulated at the box office alone
