While it may or may not be an indication of the villain we'll see in 'Spider-Man 4', UGO scored the news that actor Dylan Baker is set to appear in the film.
Appearing at New York’s Walter Reade Theater to present the film 'Trick 'r Treat' with director Michael Dougherty, Baker said he'd received a call about the planned Spidey sequel earlier that day.
Fans know, of course, that Baker has appeared in the previous two films in the franchise as Dr. Curtis Connors, Peter Parker's some time mentor who inadvertently transforms himself into the monstrous Lizard. So will he finally scale up for the sequel?
Apparently Dougherty joked about the actor's ongoing status as being just a background element in the movie and Baker said that's what it will be this time out. However UGO states that the tone of Baker's comment was unclear. He may has said it straight, indicating he's up for another minor part. Or he may have said it facetiously, disguising the notion that he is the primary super villain this time out.
Variety reports that Laeta Kalogridis has come on board DreamWorks' 3D, live-action 'Ghost in the Shell' adaptation.

Comics2Film at Mania.com has received exclusive word that the filmed adaptation of Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner's Wildstorm comics series 'Red' will roll cameras this January.
Principle photography on the Robert Schwentke film is slated for Toronto. It'll move to Hollywood's new hot spot, Louisiana, following that.
The movie stars Bruce Willis and Morgan Freeman, with Willis playing an aging black-ops agent whose retirement is interrupted by a high-tech assassin.
Word is that the script for the film (by Jon and Erich Hoeber) uses the comics as a starting point, but fills in the blanks on the Ellis' sparely-written story. At three issues, the series left much of the Willis character's back story in question, and the whys and wherefores of the assassination attempt are very vague.
There are still about four roles left to be cast. Word is the producers at Summit are in final negotiations on two of those parts.
Stay tuned for more on 'Red' as it develops.
