From Michael "Fans are writing in complaining of complete sellouts in major cities."

Michael Bay issuing statements of complaints over sell-outs? There has GOT to be a joke in there somewhere!

I haven't gotten my copy of TF2 yet, but my son has reminded me frequently over the past week, so I guess that's one that WON'T be waiting for Santa....

*Sighs*...I really wish people would stop defending some movies because they deem them to be "FUN"...screwing fat chicks can be fun, but it's not usually something you admit on public forums.  And Dazzler, yes, people buy things because they like them...the more appropriate question is did so many people LIKE it?  Wait a minute, I'm sure Wiseguy will have a paragraph or so for you...:P

I think ghost in the shell will translate well to live action.

TKay42one 10/23/2009 8:27:36 AM

Seriously though...all you Transformers superfans out there...I kind of liked the first one, honestly, but the second one I thought was just awful...I've got a proposition for you here...not trying to be a smartass, just looking for some conversation and debate here...defend why you liked "Revenge of the Fallen" WITHOUT saying it was fun or talking about special effects.  If those two elements are taken away, can you still defend it?  I mean, the script wasn't great, Michael Bay is no genius behind the really, without siting special effects or simply relying on the FUN aspect, what made this movie so great?

Wiseguy 10/23/2009 8:52:42 AM

Dudes and dudettes, did anyone catch that new AVATAR trailer, that shit was awesome. Man, my mouth watered watching that. AVATAR is going to be epic, no effing question about it. Dec 18 can't get here fast enough. I know there's a lot of hype, mostly by fans, but I truly believe this will live up to it all. I think I'm falling in love with James Cameron

Now back to your regular scheduled program

TKay42one - I'll try to give my 2 cents as best I can.

Honestly I don't believe it was a bad movie diffrerent than G1, Beast Wars and any other variation of Transformers story lines but the bottome line it gave us action tons and tons of action. Isn't that what everyone wanted to begin with now people go back and wine becuase it wasn't Shakespear quality. If that were true at why did we not like the first one too. They changed everything that was a story line of Transformers but they kept that they are robots and they can Transform simple. I'm a big Transformers fan since G1 I was a wee bit disapointed but hey you might as well enjoy it for what it is. It's just a fun summer movie now move along people.

Now the only thing that was hell of annoying through out the whole movie was those two dim witted robots you all know who I'm talking about. And I was sure that Devastor had killed one of them at least that one have improved that part of the story.

As for GI Joe why didn't it get the same results that Transformers did? Same company makes them why was that a disaster and not Transformers?  If Transformers was such a bad movie we would all have seen those results like GI Joe did. So Dazzler since you didn't like Transformers go watch GI Joe you'll love that even less.

TKay42one: My children want to see it.

This is the only reason why I'll pick up TF2, I do agree with you about the actual content of the story, but it's not going to matter to the masses who want to see things get blown to bits. I'm not a superfan of this franchise, and yes, the first one was very good....this one as far as content is concerned didn't really have any...

Ghost in the Shell should be great as live action....looking forward to that.

TKay42one 10/23/2009 9:00:32 AM

Okay, I don't see the word "Fun" in your explanation, so I'll accept  I don't know, I don't expect Shakespearian qualities from Transformers, but yeah, those twins got on my last nerve as well...I don't know, I just thought the story was kind of hastily put together and not executed well...I stand by my theory that bad characters and cheesy dialogue aside, it would have been a much better movie AND trilogy if they had waited till the end to kill Optimus and bring him back in the third one.  Just seemed sloppy and slapped together at the last minute to me, all the way around...storywise...I know the special effects and everything were great...too bad that's all Michael Bay understands.

TKay42one 10/23/2009 9:03:02 AM

Oh, and Matador, I have to assume that what happened to G.I.Joe was Stephen Sommers...what can you really hope for in a movie brought to us by the genius behind "The Mummy Returns" and "Van Helsing"?...makes Michael Bay look like Francis Ford Copala.

Matador 10/23/2009 9:39:07 AM

LOL....... TKay42one you make a very good point on the GI Joe theory. I still don't understand how a kid can infiltrate a ninja kitchen I thought ninjas were highly perceptive.

But I hate to say I did enjoy the Mummy movies just not everything else his made.

And I must also agree they should have killed Optimus in the end for a much better story to have been told. And then everyone would have been forced to watch the third film.

Also on that note that Matrix of leadership in that movie was totally weak compared to its cartoon counterpart. Oh and turning into dust then reforming back to its original form waste of time.

Not hating the movie just being picky at least it didn't make me feel unconfortable like watching Chow Yon Fat play Master Roshi in Dragonball movie.
