Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H. Promo (Article) - 5/19/2013 3:57:31 AM

I think I can safely  feel pretty comfortable with my opinion that a show about the Hulk leading a team of Hulks sounds beyond stupid without being shamed about the loss of my childhood whimsy.  I doubt I'm alone.  We don't all want serious CMBs all the time, we just want them not to suck.  There are other campy kids projects, like the LEGO batman movie which sound fun.  Agents of SMASH sounds like an attempt to cash in.  Yes, I coud dedicate a half hour of my life to have my suspicions confirmed, but even my time is more valuable than that.  As for GotG, I just don't care how good they may or may not make a movie with the main character called Star Lord and his talking Raccoon sidekick.  My complaint about that project has always been that Marvel has SO MANY better properties waiting in the wings for a movie project.

Apparently Marvel is hoping to make Guardians of the Galaxy look appealing by demonstarting that it is no where near rock bottom.  Well played...I guess.

LEGO BATMAN: THE MOVIE - Clip (Article) - 5/16/2013 9:48:13 AM

We need to demand Adam West do the voice work on this one.  It's clearly not Connroy work, too campy.  And @Miner49er; Joel Schumacher should be the game's villain, he's come cloer to killing Batman than the Joker ever did.

Shane Black to Direct Doc Savage (Article) - 5/14/2013 5:55:33 PM

@Monkeyfoot and Moz72, a sequel to Buckaroo Banzai is definetly out of the question if you've seen Peter Weller lately.  He's much more likey to be cast as skeletor in a Masters of the Universe flick.  What the property needs (and I hate this word but I'm using it anyway) is a reboot.  Nothing high budget but with the right cast and a suitably hipster story I'd love to see another go with the Hong Kong Cavaliers.

Shane Black to Direct Doc Savage (Article) - 5/13/2013 2:45:30 PM

Instead of Doc Savage, we need a new Buckaroo Banzai.  They were basically the same character, but Buckaroo has more potential because it's easier to get weird.

Luke Evans for The Crow (Article) - 5/6/2013 10:44:23 AM

The Actors supposedly signed to play the Crow keep getting less and less famous (and expensive).  The last Mania article I read had Wahlberg in the Role and before that it was Brad Cooper.  Maybe the producers should take that as a sign.  Normally I'm OK with at least the idea of remakes, but what say we leave this one alone, just this once.  Please?  Let's let the fantastic original stand as Brandon Lee's professional coup de gras and leave it at that.

RED 2 Character Posters (Article) - 4/25/2013 10:41:46 PM

The first RED was a rare occasion for me; a CMB that was miles from its source material, but I loved it anyway.  I hope this movie does well, I'll be there opening weekend.

Iron Man 3 12:01 IMAX Poster (Article) - 4/22/2013 5:48:26 PM

OK, @Violator, you make a great point, as nervous as I am about Disney, I say let them have every property license Bay works as long as they take them away from him.  There's Disney crap and then there's Bay, a whole order of magnitude crappier.  And Zilla, don't know if Gamehendge is right, but if you are from Bako that would explain a lot ;)

Iron Man 3 12:01 IMAX Poster (Article) - 4/22/2013 11:48:24 AM

Speaking of Iron Man 3, I just read that Disney wants to renegotiate their split on theater tickets with the theater industry.  Major chains are refusing to pre-sell IM3 tickets until the dispute is sorted.  Disney wants an increase of 10-15% in their cut.  They bought Marvel, they bought Lucsafim, and now that damned mouse is using it's newly acquired properties to extort small business (yes, many theaters are still small businesses).  I gues the geniuses at Disney felt they had to make up the $200 million they pissed away on John Carter somehow.  Of course this menas an increase in ticket prices for the rest of us.  I have long maintained that the ONLY good thing that may come out of Disney buying Marvel is that we may finally get a decent comic book TV show.  Instead, we're getting a SHIELD show about the Greatest Superhero Universe with, apparently, no actual Superheros.  Still glad the mouse is buying up your childhoods?
