Date: Tuesday, April 22, 2008

Screenwriter Sheldon Turner (The Amityville Horror) has sold an adventure thriller pitch to Regency centering around a vacation-gone-wrong in the Amazon. The spec, Down River, has Jennifer Klein producing through her Apartment 3B shingle. Turner has also written the screenplay for the upcoming Magneto spin-off for Fox.

Plot Concept:
The story revolves around four twentysomething masters of the corporate world who decide to go on an actual adventure trip to the Amazon rather than on a high-class trip where you pretend to rough it. Things go awry when their tour guide is killed and the men have to face not only dangerous wildlife and tribesmen but also one another.

I hate to compare because it's done all the time, but couldn't help but think that it sounds like Deliverance in the Amazon.
