Newsarama is reporting that legendary UNCANNY X-MEN writer Chris Claremont and EXCALIBUR artist Alan Davis will become the new creative team on Marvel's UNCANNY X-MEN. Claremont rose to fame writing UXM in the mid-70s and was a direct component of transforming the X-Men characters into a bestselling comic book. His run on the series with artist John Byrne, which saw such classic storylines as "The Dark Phoenix Saga" and "Days of Future Past", is considered legendary by many longtime fans.
According to Newsarama, Davis broke the information during a panel at this past weekend's Mid-Ohio Con. The exact issue where Claremont and Davis would take over from current UXM writer Chuck Austin and artist Salvador Larocca is unknown.
So far Marvel Comics has chosen to not comment on the story.
