The return of MR. PEABODY and SHERMAN

Set the wayback machine!

The director of STUART LITTLE and THE HAUNTED MANSION is lining up a new project for his production company to develop, and it's based on a classic cartoon series. MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN got its start on THE ADVENTURES OF ROCKY & BULLWINKLE show and now it might get turned into a combination CGI/live-action feature film.

The proposed movie is set up at Sony Pictures and has the involvement of Tiffany Ward, the daughter of the cartoon characters creator, Jay Ward. Minkoff will serve as a producer on the proposed film, with the door open for him to direct if he wants it. A screenwriter is being sought for the project. There's also the chance that a new TV series could come about from the developers.

MR. PEABODY (the dog) & SHERMAN (the boy) stories were pretty much the same in each four-and-a-half minute episode. Using their time-travelling "wayback" machine, the duo would travel back to the past and witness key moments from history. They also usually had a hand in making sure things went according to what was in the history books.
