MGM has announced that Richard Dean Anderson has signed on to reprise his role as Gen. Jack O'Neill in the upcoming straight to DVD film, Stargate: Continuum.

"We're thrilled to have Richard join us for Stargate: Continuum," executive producer Brad Wright said. "As Gen. Jack O'Neill, Richard brings both a sense of history and familiarity to the continuing adventures of the Stargate team. And we all recognize his value as the much-loved hero among the Stargate fan base."

Martin Wood will direct the film which plans to shoot in the Arctic.

KJ's Take:  This DVD should do great business.  I'll probably get if via Blockbuster eventually.

Great news! I stopped watching after he left, glad they brought him back. I would actually prefer a stargate sequel to the actual movie fromt he 90's, but this should be great regardless.

Damn good news. While I think Ben Browder was an great replacement for Jack, it will be great to see him in the movie.

Spoiler Alert*****

I was kind of upset to not see him in the Series Finale, so it good that they have him in this.

YYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEESSSSS!!!!!
I've always been a fan of this series with its great stories and effects. But I only realized how important Anderson was to it when he left. His dramatic and irreverent, comedic sides interacting with the other characters made that show for me. They probably paid him a sarcophagus full but it's well worth it.
Should probably have them take on King Xerxes from the movie 300. I wonder if 300 director Zack Snyder purposely made him so much a Goau'ald.

They're both in the movie, so it's the best of both worlds.

Why not more MacGyver movies?

I wonder if 300 director Zack Snyder purposely made him so much a Goau'ald. THAT IS SOOOOO FUNNY...My Girlfriend and I thought the same thing as we were watching. We kept expecting his eyes to glow...and then on his throne he was sitting in front of this big stargate looking thing, all I could think was forget the Spartans, where the hell is Sg-1 with their P-90's blazing!

The only new Stargate movie I would be interested in would star Kurt Russell and James Spader.

SG-1 and Atlantis are terrible. That ought to rile someone up.

I really wish that Zack Snyder would die. If i was rich, i would hire a professional hitman to kill him. As long as i know i could get away with it. I swear to god i would. Dawn of the Dead remake was the biggest piece of shit i've ever seen. 300 looks fucking stupid. I really pray to god that either terrorists kill him, or he dies in a car wreck. Cuz i got to many bills to pay to hire Jean Reno.
