All these villains and no Batman; what a brilliant plan DC.

Every great story needs a protagonist - someone you can root for to thwart evil, win the girl, etc. But when you're talking about some of the greatest villains in DC comic lore, you really need a "super-protagonist". I just don't see James Gordon fitting that bill. Hopefully I'm wrong and they really come up with some great stories.

I think it is brilliant. He will grow up to be the answer. The villians might not be true villians in the early years. They might also be flanking everyone and may have an adult Batman they will be using and the kids are in the flashbacks. Its also early, many things could change. After one season Bruce could come back 4,5,6, or more years older. My excitement grows with each casting that I hear about.

I'm at least glad to hear that they are going to have a Riddler, I'll give this show a shot just for that reason alone. And I'm not even concerned that I've never even heard of this guy, I guess I should look him up on IMDB.

If I can't get a good Riddler in the movies at least I can, hopefully, see one in a TV show. Well I liked Jim Carrey as the Riddler, but I  thought the riddles themselves sucked. I mean those were the type of riddles you'd find in Highlights for Children, not from a criminal mastermind.

I think it will be brilliant if we actually get a bonafide "Batman" spinoff / follow-up from this show in 7-10 years time!  I really don't see the point of this show otherwise...

Wait a second, so Bruce Wayne is some little kid and ALL his rouge gallery including Catwoman are adults?  That makes no sense?  Especially Selina Kyle, she supposed to be younger then Bruce - NOT older.  Also there were no super-villains in Gotham before Batman, just a generic bunch of mobsters / corrupt police & politicians.  This is making less and less sense.

Javaone said "you really need a "super-protagonist". I just don't see James Gordon fitting that bill."

Yeah especially since I keep seeing Gordon from the 60's Batman TV show, he couldn't tie his shoes without calling Batman for help. haha

But I do really like Ben McKenzie's stuff from Southland.

So a production about Bruce Wayne, not Batman, that will feature Batman villains.  So they're bringing The Dark Knight Rises to TV!

Also, who's going to play Egghead, The Bookworm and Louie the Lilac?
