Yet another example of the modern phenomenon of deconstructing our heroes and knocking them off their pedestals. We have run out of historical figures to "humanize" and are now turning to pseudo-historical figures like Robin Hood. If this trend continues, in a few years Superman will be beating Lois and Wayne Enterprises will institute Wal Mart like employee management practices.

This makes me wonder why Robin Hood all of a sudden? First the excellent series on BBC and now this. Why the interest in a guy fighting against corruption and stupidity at the top? Couldn't possibly be relevant to anything that's happening today . . . could it?

I read about this along time ago. I'm glad it's a different take, and I like Scott, Crowe, and Robin Hood. I'm all for this.

If they're making a "revisionist" version of Robin Hood, it must be because they're tired of the Robin Hood character. But he'll be the supporting character, while the sheriff is the hero. It will probably be a good movie, anyway, because Ridley Scott is making it. I think his new movie American Gangster is going to be good.

UK tv viewers have had a long line Robin Hood based prorammes, who can forget Maiden Marian and her Merry Men. LOL At least it would be a new take I suppose. Normans are always cast as villans in movies of this period.

Ridley and Russell? Excellent.
