Ridley Scott Associates, the commercial production company owned by brothers/directors Ridley and Tony Scott, has been tapped to create a live-action short film promoting the upcoming racing video game DRIV3R. Titled "Ride the Gauntlet", the three-minute short will place the game's main character, an undercover cop who's infiltrated a car theft ring, at the center of the action.
Beginning Tuesday, January 13, a thiry-second portion of the first part of the film will debut on the game's official website located at
www.driv3r.com. The second portion of the film's first minute will arrive on January 19. The second and third parts will each debut on the DRIV3R website in February and March, respectively.
Since Ridley Scott Associates was the same commercial company to create the second wave of short films for BMW's "Driver" series, it stands to reason that there will be plenty of car racing action in the DRIV3R promo reel. The DRIV3R game is scheduled for release in mid-March.
