A few months ago, Zombie said he wouldn't necessarily be directing more horror films for the remaining two films of his Dimension contract. He has also indicated on numerous occasions a desire to work on his own story concepts instead of remakes like his recent Halloween adaptation. Apparently, his outlook on the future has changed. According to the latest news from Dread Central, Rob has a new horror remake on the near horizon, this time from the 80's era of cult classics. The director has been charged with remaking the 80's cult film C.H.U.D, aka Cannibalistic Human Underground Dweller, for Dimension Films.
Old Plot Concept: A rash of bizarre murders in New York City seems to point to a group of grotesquely deformed vagrants living in the sewers. A courageous policeman, a photo journalist and his girlfriend, and a homeless man band together to put a stop to the cannibalistic creatures.
