A new clip has surfaced for RoboCop. This international clip features test of Alex Murphy's (Joel Kinnaman) new abilities. Check out the clip called “Field Test”.
The Plot: In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees their chance to build a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.
RoboCop features Joel Kinnaman, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jennifer Ehle, Jay Baruchel, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, and Samuel L. Jackson.
RoboCop arrives February 7th, 2014.

The scene from the original Robocop where Murphy is shooting out the drug factory is so much better than this scenario.  Don't like the music either.  Why the remake?...why?

The more important question for me is when will Criterion put out a Blu-Ray version of the RoboCop they put on DVD?  I refuse to buy any other blurays of the movie because I love the Criterion release with all the extra footage edited into the movie.  The problem is the DVD is Letterboxed and not widescreen.  Therefore it has black bars on all four sides of the picture.

Good point Red Hairs. I just got their April releases and it is not present! Perhaps at Xmas 2014.

I'm gonna see it. I like the actor. I don't have some ridiculous man-crush on the first incarnation (it's not Star Wars and it's by no means a sacred "no touchy" kind of franchise). Therefore, I'm not personally affronted by the concept of redoing it with better graphics and a more plausible plot. The first was fun... for the 80's. Let's all evolve... just a tiny bit please.

I still want to know how the story explains that Detroit even still exists in 2028.

This is looking even worse than what I could have imagined them doing. What a complete and total POS remake, AGAIN. I will definitely be passing on this one, even on cable. There is only ONE Murphy/RoboCop, and his name is Peter Weller! PERIOD!

Calamity, there is a point in which a remake completely ignores the original and no longer has the same "feel". This is doing what Total Recall with Ferrell did.....trying to up the reality and make it more "plausible". What made the original RoboCop so good was it did NOT take itself seriously. It was all good fun, loads of gore, great one liners, and BAD ASS music! Today's audience is all about Gee Wiz FX and Hard Rock Sound Tracks. The original had effective FX, but they weren't the selling point......the ridiculousness of the plot in the original was what made it so damned GOOD! And Clarence Boddicker played by Kurtwood Smith will NEVER be outdone by anyoe in this remake, let alone Weller's Murphy/RoboCop. Boddicker was KICK ASS and Kurtwood played the slimeball PERFECTLY! You can't top either of those performances!

It won't be topped either.. since Clarence Boddicker "character" won't even be in this remake lol

JokersWild, then this "remake" will definitely SUCK!

Wow, I really, really want to like this movie, but this clip blew chunks. Agree Frosty, the music sounds like something Frank Stallone might write. Blech!
