ROBOSAPIEN Begins Production in NO

Production has begun rolling on Robosapien: Rebooted under the supervision of director Senn McNamara (Bratz) and writer-producer Avi Arad. The Hollywood Reporter says that filming began this week in New Orleans with Bobby Coleman starring as the robot's friend alongside fellow cast members Penelope Ann Miller, David Eigenberg, Holliston Coleman, Joaquim de Almeida and Kim Coates. The script was penned by Arad and Max Botkin.

Plot Concept: Story centers around a boy (Coleman) who befriends a robot on the run from malevolent corporate interests.

Sounds too much like Short Circuit and with the recent news that they're remaking that I think the writers of Robosapien need to come up with a new storyline or shelve this altogether. Transformers, Wall-E, Short Circuit remake and now this, I'm getting tired of robots already.

I always see those toys at Best buy and think they are too expensive to buy. This seems like a giant ad for them.

Also reminds me a year or two ago there was a Marvel series with a Sentinel befriending a kid. Not a total crapfest but better idea.

It's nice to see they are trying to distinguish their plot from the "Iron Giant". In that movie, the story centers around a boy who befriends a robot on the run from malevolent *military* interests. This is soooo much different.

I think Robosapien's best acting role came in the deleted scenes for The 40-Year-Old Virgin.

exactly how BIG is the movie version of robosapien going to be? theres quite a big difference in scale when you're talking the real Robosapien that you see available at Best Buy compared to Short Circuit and Wall-E over Iron Giant
