Set in the near future, an ex-jewel thief receives a gift from his daughter: a robot butler programmed to look after him. But soon the two companions try their luck as a heist team.

Robot and Frank stars Peter Sarsgaard, Frank Langella, and Susan Sarandon The film is written by Christopher D. Ford and directed by Jake Schreier.

Robot and Frank opens in limited release in the US August 2012.

Excellent! Whenever anybody gets upset that all they make are remakes and reboots for genre films you can point to this!

Looks like a nice buddy comedy/drama, I'm in. I'm a sucker with films about a.i. and especially when they explore how we may interact with it in the future

Reminds me a bit of Bicentenial Man, which is one of my favourite movies (I know it aint the best written movie, but it has a lot of heart). Dont know if I will watch it in the cinema but will definitely catch it at some point.

Will need to see more / hear more before this goes from the rent to the must see in theaters, but at least it's not a remake / part 2 - etc..
