I was underwelmed by the new Robotech.  I think it's better when it's Earth based and not space based.  I hope they do more Earth based stuff in the live action version.  Focus on story than messy big battles.  For me it's about...

First War:  Whoops we accidently went to Mars and now we have to fight Aliens to get back to Earth.

Second War:  Whoops we sent our main fleet to fight an away war and did not shore up our Earth defences against this Alien ship.

Third War:  Small mix of various mechs on a mission to take out Reflex on Earth point before our Earth fleet comes back to Earth. 

I hope they summarize the wars well in the movies.
