What They Say
In the wake of Roy Fokker's death, the crew of the SDF-1 must face the bitter realities of war in the most personal of ways. Add to this the growing dissatisfaction with the Earth's primitive defense forces, and it all points to eminent defeat at the hands of a massive alien armada.
But as the battle to save their planet seems out of their reach, a series of lucky breaks give these besieged heroes of the massive space battle fortress a small glimmer of hope.

The Review!
Now the story really gets moving. If you were patient with the past volumes, here's where all that waiting pays off. These episodes are some of the best ones yet.

Audio: How can I complain? I'm a sucker for original works, so the mono track was a bit of a bonus for me. Still no distortion anywhere. Keep it up ADV.

Video: Yes. Same old nicks and scratches. It was made in 1982. Give them a break. You really think ADV has the money...well, the time to go back and restore it?

Packaging: This is the best cover I've seen yet. One of the neglected, but also very attracted, Robotech unit is displayed on the front cover. I can't wait to see more artwork on the next volume.

Menus: The setup is different from the last disc, unlike the first two discs. The main menu features the battle in "Bursting Point".

Extras: ........................moving on.

Content: These are some of the more exciting episodes of Robotech. Let's take a look at what's on the disc.

Bursting Point (A+): The SDF-1 trys out it's new Omni-Directional barrier, but it turns out to work against them once Kyron attacks again. The best parts are when the episode opens with SDF-1 fyling over a city and the battle with tons of firepower flying back and forth.

Paradise Lost (A-): Bretai returns and the SDF-1 is forced off Earth once again. It was great to see Bretai and Dolza again. And the spires return to their ship.

A New Dawn (B-): The SDF-1 goes into an un-announced moduler transformation. Lisa and Rick get stuck in a part of the ship and get to know each other. An ok episode, but no action.

Battlehymn (B+): The Zentradi foil the SDF-1's Dataless attack while Minmei sings at her concert. This was a good episode, but moved a little bit slow.

Reckless (A-): Some Zentradi defect to the Micronians and Lisa goes to Earth to discuss peace negotiantions with the Earth Consule. Lots of action and a good plot twister.

Showdown (B+): Lisa arrives on Earth while Max gets aquainted with Myrial. A great episode, but, once again, moves too slow.

Overall, great episodes, worth every buck. It's a great series that continues to get better. Highly recommended.
