The Rock to BE COOL?

According to Variety, the people who are making the sequel to GET SHORTY, BE COOL, have their mind set on hiring The Rock to play one of the movie's roles. If they can arrange it, Rocky would portray the bodyguard of an up-and-coming music star's manager who has ties to the mob. The bodyguard, who happens to be gay, also has aspirations of becoming a music star. After butting heads in their first encounter, Chili Palmer (to be played again by John Travolta) decides to also help manage The Rock's character catch his big break.

Filming on BE COOL is scheduled to commence in January under the direction of F. Gary Gray (THE ITALIAN JOB). MGM would like to have BE COOL out in theaters for the holiday 2004 season.
