JAKKS Pacific recently announced that it has signed a worldwide licensing agreement with MGM Consumer Products to develop, manufacture and distribute a line of toys based on the entire ROCKY franchise, which includes ROCKY, ROCKY II, ROCKY III, ROCKY IV, ROCKY V and the 2007 feature film, ROCKY BALBOA.

JAKKS' Boys Action division plans to develop collectible action figures, play sets, accessories, role-play items and sports toys based on Rocky and the popular characters from the films, to coincide with the 30-year Anniversary and DVD launch of Rocky in the Fall of 2006, followed by the premiere of ROCKY BALBOA in December 2006.

"ROCKY is an amazing franchise and we are thrilled to create an action figure line based on the dynamic characters from each film, including the highly anticipated ROCKY BALBOA," said Jeremy Padawer, vice president of boys entertainment and pet products, JAKKS Pacific, Inc. "In addition to creating really great toys, we have designed a launch schedule that we believe will build a buzz for the product and enhance the collectability of the line."

Travis Rutherford, executive vice president, MGM Consumer Products and Location Based Entertainment commented: "There are many exciting opportunities surrounding the Rocky franchise, and we are delighted to have found a partner with the toy expertise and passion to create a compelling line of products based on the iconic film stars."

ronnastie--good one. If they do would they have the Eddie doll with the dismemberment parts for dinner? Or the Magenta one with the peekaboo-I-see-your-(blank) pajama shirt?

The funny thing about the Rocky dolls, er "action figures", is that they will undoubtedly be able to act better than Sylvester Stallone can... not to mention look more intelligent...

Stallone can act real good mate. Is a composition character maker! Like Rocky! The way to talk to walk, to move. He was good. But he is indeed bad at every day guy...hrmmm Joe Tanto.....
