Not Necessary Apparently

Well they special edition Blu-ray and DVD of X-Men: Days of Future Past will probably be called the Rogue Edition. Entertainment Weekly broke the news, that Bryan Singer has cut Rogue from the film. Singer has stated it had nothing to do with with Anna Paquin’s performance it was just an “it was an embarrassment of riches”. Here is what the director had to say.

“Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous,” explains Singer. “It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.”

Singer also stated that Paquin knew first and she understands. My best guess is it will be called “The Rogue Edition” when the film arrives on Blu-ray and DVD.

Synopsis: This latest chapter in 20th Century Fox's X-Men saga stars Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry and Daniel Cudmore. Singer is back behind the camera.

Plot Concept: The film is based on the comic book storyline "Days of Future Past," which ran in Uncanny X-Men #141 and 142 back in 1981 during Chris Claremont and John Byrne's run and introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.

X-Men: Days of Future Past arrives May 23, 2014.

O.k wtf? Not like singer did a good job in the first X-Men any how, with her.

Not a dealbreaker for me, I love Anna Paquin but these things happen, if it serves the film then so be it.  I know a lot of people have issues with Brian Singer but I think he's brilliant and I'll trust his vision without question.

Anna is a terrible actress and I for one am glad I won't have to sit through her shitty performance...

Muenster 12/20/2013 11:39:15 PM

Anyone notice how much Anna looks like Warren Casey from KC & The Sunshine Band?

Seriously... Check out the music video on you-tube "Please don't go".

It's really quite creepy.

I'd be delighted if Alan Cummings surprised us as Nightcrawler in a scene.

Eh... I guess hoping for a cameo of Kelsey Grammar as an older Beast would be too much to hope for too. I didn't hate his performance at all. Grammar has shown real interest in coming back.

Yes mlaforce, Anna is so terrible and shitty that she won an Oscar at the age of 11.  Seriously dude.

But didn't she have her mutant powers removed in the third film?  She probably just wasn't needed in this movie as a mere "normal" person.  Too bad though, cause I like her.

Maybe the powers come back as Magneto's seemed to at the end. When he playing chess or something?

Wiseguy 12/21/2013 3:17:42 AM

I don't like her so it's no big deal to me.

halfbloodprincess 12/21/2013 6:14:12 AM

This is not a big deal because it would of been lame Rogue anyway. When will we finally get a cool version of Rogue on screen?

Oscars don't mean good acting to me.  Oscar needs to update their formula for picking winners.
