Though it may not matter to the over all story that is X-Men: Days of Future Past. We are still wondering if Rogue (Anna Paquin) has bee really cut from the film. Here is what director Bryan SInger told Entertainment Weekly: “Through the editing process, the sequence became extraneous. It’s a really good sequence and it will probably end up on the DVD so people can see it. But like many things in the editing process, it was an embarrassment of riches and it was just one of the things that had to go. Unfortunately, it was the one and only sequence [emphasis ours] Anna Paquin was in, the Rogue character was in. Even though she’s in the materials and part of the process of making the film, she won’t appear in it.”
Yet with the recent appearance of Rogue in Empire’s 25 Covers celebrating the film (see below). Rogue was among those characters featured.
Now we know that her deleted scene will end of the Blu-ray or perhaps in an extended cut. However Singer has told Empire: “"It does not mean that we won't see her in the film."
X-Men: Apocalypse Update
Singer has stated that they are looking at a 2016 release for the film as well as forgoing the “original cast”. This would mean we wouldn’t see the original cast members including Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and the like. Instead the cast would be made up of X-Men: First Class actors.
Singer has also come forward and stated who and what Apocalypse will be. "One thing that interests me is the notion of ancient mutants," explains Singer of the character. "What would people thousands of years ago, without the benefit of science, think mutants were? And more importantly, what would mutants thousands of years ago think they were? Gods? Titans? Angels? Demons? And if such mutants did exist thousands of years ago, what became of them? Did one survive?"
It still isn’t official if Singer will direct the next X-Men film or not.
