Director Brett Ratner has written a role for Roman Polanski into his upcoming film, RUSH HOUR 3, according to CHUD.

"Hopefully Polanski's going to act in Rush Hour 3, so I created a part for him," said Ratner. "I was just having lunch with him, and I said, 'Oh my God, you have to be in Rush Hour!' We're shooting in Paris, so it's perfect."

The movie will be set in Paris, pitting Chan and Tucker against a Chinese organized crime syndicate, the Triads. The movie is aiming for a release sometime next summer and filming is set to get underway in a few months.

Why can't Polanski *direct* "Rush Hour 3?"

I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall during that lunch.

Polanski: "I'm sorry, Brett. I can't help you become an expatriate. We've both committed crimes that we should be arrested for. But with me, it was just some underage poon. For you, it was that damn mutant film."

weren't the triads the villains in the first two films?

• Jul 31, 2006, 04:18am •
Polanski: Yeah, I`ve done some really bad things in my life Brett. Things I probably should apologize for. But, you Brett, you.. disgust me! I think you owe the world and apology for that last film you made about those mutants! That was just wrong.

These movies are more Ratner's pace. Funny, lighthearted, mind numbing, with no real storyline or plot. Just two funny actors, playing off eachother, fighting against, yet another set of Chinese Triad.
Can't they find someone else to fight? Every movie has been about them fighting Chinese organized crime. How about the mafia, or Yakuza?

Roman Polanski, Jackie Chan And Chris Tucker. Ok Insert joke here....

The first movie involved the kidnapping of a Chinese consul's daughter. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with the Triads. I'd have to watch the movie again. However, the second movie featured a man named Ricky Tan. He was Inspector Lee's (Jackie Chan) father's former partner and leader of the Triads.

I also picked this bit of info up earlier: Rush Hour 3 was being bogged down because Chris Tucker was making too many demands for more power such as final cut approval, the final look at the movie, an increased salary, and so on. Jackie Chan called Tucker a "good friend" but questioned whether he had the stature to be so demanding. "He's still a new actor", Chan added. "How many movies has he made? Two movies have already made him very famous and made him a lot of money. He needs to learn slowly."

Chris Tucker should thank his lucky stars for the Rush Hour films...they made him a "star." He's ok in those movies but pretty much sucks in anything else.

Well, he can always come back as Smokey on the Friday films...god knows why he didn't?!

You should check out Dead Presidents wessmith. It might change your opinion. He does a bit of serious acting and pulls it off well.

How about Chan and Tucker going after a fugitve movie director who is on the run from justice . Who is hiding out in Europe to avoid rape charges. They can I have DoG Chapman come along or bring a couple real Federal Marshalls along to make sure they get there man. Enough work for this guy. Not a single American dollar should be given to Polanski until he faces his past and takes his punishment. Remember he drugged a 14 year old girl and had sex with her. If this was you or me we would hunted until we were brought to justice.
