Bleeding Cool followed up on their rumor that actor Jamie Bell was pretty much locked for Marc Webb's new Spider-Man movie, revealing some of the information that's been given them, while declining to name their sources.
Apparently Bell is in California this week. Reportedly he's doing some additional camera tests and working with a personal trainer to make sure he's in web-slinging shape for the production. Bleeding Cool claims this is all pretty much a formality and its presumed that these steps will not present hurdles to the actor actually signing.
BC also claims that Josh Hutcherson (Red Dawn, Cirque du Freak) was eliminated from the running due to a scheduling conflict. Sony is apparently keeping newcomer Frank Dillane (Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) in orbit just in case something goes terribly wrong with Bell, but for all intents and purposes sources claim Bell has the part.

The ForcesOfGeek website claims to have inside information about casting on the X-Men: First Class movie.
Their unnamed sources tell them that actress Rosamund Pike has had a screen test for the movie. You've seen Pike in such movies as Doom and Die Another Day. She had a very prominent role in last year's comic adaptation Surrogates.
Pike was apparently spotted in or near the offices of casting director Lucinda Syson. Now we don't know for sure that Syson is the casting director on First Class, but she did work for producer/director Matthew Vaughn previously on Snatch, Stardust and Kick-Ass.
The anonymous scooper also claims that Pike was carrying a copy of X-Men Origins: Emma Frost #1.
What do you think, Maniacs? Should Emma Frost be in the X-MEN: FIRST CLASS? If so, is Pike a good casting choice? She sure looks the part in the various photos found online!
