VARIETY covers the casting of Richard Roxburgh, best known for his role as the Duke in MOULIN ROUGE, has landed the Dracula role in Stephen Sommers' pic, VAN HELSING. The pic is named after Hugh Jackman's character, Dr. Abraham Van Helsing, the vampire hunter in Bram Stoker's influential version of the tale.

Sommers, who wrote the film, is the director of the current MUMMY series of related films.
