Actor Mark Ruffalo will be joining Leonardo DiCaprio for Martin Scorsese's adaptation of SHUTTER ISLAND, based on the Dennis Lehane novel. The trade reports the thespian taking up the role of U.S Marshal Chuck Aule for the production. Scorsese's Sikelia Productions and DiCaprio's Appian Way will be producing the drama while Dennis Lehane, Laeta Kalogridis and Louis Phillips will executive produce. Production is set to begin in March.

Plot Concept: In Laeta Kalogridis' adaptation of Dennis Lehane's 2004 novel, Ruffalo will play U.S. Marshal Chuck Aule, who travels with his new partner (DiCaprio) to the eponymous Massachusetts island in 1954. As they investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane, they encounter a web of lies, a hurricane and a deadly inmate riot that leaves them trapped on the island.

it s always the same, if done correctly can be good, the plot look very similar to many story line. A simple situation, two investigators, a murder, strange talking from witness, an hurricane, a locked situation and a final sequences with great action and speed....

Sounds interesting enough and with the cast and director involved I doubt we'll be disappointed. Ruffalo is a real good actor. And I must admit that DiCaprio is great, now that I no longer hold a grudge against him for been so fortunate so young.

Anything DiCaprio does automatically grabs my attention. Add Scorcese to the mix and this movie, cliche as it sounds, will have to work to lose my interest. Ruffalo I could take or leave. Doesn't really do anything for me as an actor.

Hehehe... looking at the attached pic, I was just going to say; "Ruffalo as another investigator/cop in another time crime flick, huh?, didn't he just do Zodiac?"

Yep, he's typecasted! lol.... Seriously, though, I liked Zodiac. And Ruffalo's an alright character actor, too.
