jetro  dont think theres a need to reboot just becuz theres a new actor ,it will work out,i'm looking forward to all these flicks   marvel & dc,looks like dc is finally stepping up.

ang lees hulk seemed like a mix of the comic& tv & some crap he pulled out of his azz or something,it was ok 

smallville looks like it might get the closure it needs.the trailer makes it look like he will suit up & fly

They have a lot more going on in "Smallville" the past few years than the original producers probably would have preferred.  Which I feel is a good thing.  If it were up to the original producers, they would have let the show linger on "will he or won't he be with Lana" and never get around to him coming as close to being Superman as he is now.  They were probably very content to focus on the "teen drama" aspect even when the characters are no longer teenagers.  These are also the same producers who thought the world desperately needed another Brendan Fraser "Mummy" movie and a "Hannah Montana" movie.  Just to give you a little perspective.

The show has made significant progress without them, becoming something more comic-book and action based.  There have been hiccups along the way, but every show has those and "Smallville" has retained a "guilty pleasure" form of entertainment that has begun to deliver on its promises.  I mean, the last season's finale opened with a glimpse of the future with Superman saving the day in full costume (just really fast and far away) so, in a way, the whole "no flights, no tights" rule is out the door.  This being the last season, I think that they are not going to disappoint.  They have nothing to lose by having him suit up and fly at this point, so there's no doubt in my mind that they will.

axia777/monelonmonday - thanks for the correction and good news.  Maybe it's just me but Hulk seems like a character that works best in the comics but doesn't transfer well to other medias.  Guy gets angry.  No one likes him angry.  He turns green.  He breaks stuff.  He calms down. He's back to normal until something else happens.  I know I'm exgerating a lot but to me, Hulk is a video game character, not a movie character.

This is no slight on Marvel or DC, as I'm eagerly awaiting their movies just like everyone else is but I just can't seeing Hulk doing well.  Then again, Michael Bay's Transformers made hundreds of millions, so what do I know :P

 How can anyone say Ang Lee's hulk was good? That movie was f'ing retarded. Hulk dogs? That burst into smoke when they get punched? All those little clips of vehicles getting smashed and the guys inside radioing back to base "Don't worry, we're OK, nobody died..." It's like they did everything they could to get a G rating. And then a lightning monster at the end. Lightning. 

Okono... yes, the Hulk dogs (the poodle, in particular) detracted from the good parts of Lee's Hulk. This was compounded by the more limited capabilities of CGI just a few years back... limited capabilities which made it a technical challenge to produce a non-rubbery Hulk on screen. I won't comment on the script, as I suspect that the negatives keep me from giving it a full assesment so long after the fact.

I suspect that the Hulk character is one of the more difficult comic book properties to work with on film. This is mainly because the character is so tied to the emotion of anger. Letterier's Incredible Hulk probably got around this as best as possible, but it simply seems difficult to make the Hulk a film-worthy lead character without making him so sensitive that the movie becomes comedic or making the story focus on Banner instead of Hulk. Having the character in the 2012 ensemble movie gets around this, though.

now granted i'm only comparing the changing of actors and not quality of film, but in 12 years from 1992-2005,  we've had 4 different Batmans, and in the end, it worked out well. Who knows? Maybe Ruffalo will give us the best BB the same way Christian Bale gave us Bruce Wayne
