RUSH HOUR helmer Brett Ratner has signed a deal to direct JOSIAH'S CANON for 20th Century Fox. Ratner is currently shooting AFTER THE SUNSET starring Pierce Brosnan, Woody Harrelson and Salma Hayek for New Line Cinema, and is expected to move on to JOSIAH'S CANON sometime after the middle of next year.
Written by Jeff King and with a polish by Phil Alden Robinson, JOSIAH'S CANON is a bank heist flick with a twist. In the story a man, who is also a survivor of the Holocaust, leads a team of world-renouned bank robbers to crack the safe of a Swiss bank. The leader of the robber believes that the Swiss bank has been holding the money that Jews deposited before they were murdered by Hitler's reign of terror, making it an ethical crime that needs to be committed.
No stars have been attached to the project yet.
