It is a slow genre day here at Mania so we thought we would post this trailer for the new Ron Howard film Rush. The film features Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, as a race car driver. We will be covering this film come review time. Check out the trailer below.

The Synopsis: Two-time Academy Award winner Ron Howard (A Beautiful Mind, Frost/Nixon), teams once again with fellow two-time Academy Award nominee, writer Peter Morgan (Frost/Nixon, The Queen), on Rush, a spectacular big-screen re-creation of the merciless 1970s rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda. In UK cinemas on Sept 13th. The epic action-drama stars Chris Hemsworth (The Avengers) as the charismatic Englishman James Hunt and Daniel Brühl (Inglourious Basterds) as the disciplined Austrian perfectionist Niki Lauda, whose clashes on the Grand Prix racetrack epitomized the contrast between these two extraordinary characters, a distinction reflected in their private lives. Set against the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, Rush portrays the exhilarating true story of two of the greatest rivals the world has ever witnessed—handsome English playboy Hunt and his methodical, brilliant opponent, Lauda. Taking us into their personal lives on and off the track, Rush follows the two drivers as they push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there is no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. If you make one mistake, you die.

Rush stars Daniel Brühl, Chris Hemsworth, and Olivia Wilde.

Rush races into theaters September 20th 2013.

Howard is one of those director's who never stays in a slot. He is always doing something different and usually doing it well. I don't think he's done and an action film yet or a sci-fi film though.

No interest here for me.

Best film ever to go by RUSH stars Jason Patric and Jennifer Jason Leigh. Terrific and underrated film about undercover cops

Looks alright.  Don't think I'll see it in the theater except maybe a Tuesday night Criterion special at Movieland.  More likely Netflix or Redbox for me.

Is Stallone going to show up as the old washed-up fromer champ trying to prove that he can still do it?  Lol!  Now THAT was a pretty bad racing movie.

Looks good, but it gives aaway everything but the ending.

Gosh, Hemsworth is really channeling Brad Pitt there, ain't he?
