According to WENN, Russell Crowe has confirmed that he and director Ridley Scott will film a sequel to GLADIATOR. While the hard quotes don't quite back up that statement, they do suggest that Crowe and Scott are seriously considering the sequel.
"We talk about it every now and then," said Crowe. "We did kind of make it tricky for ourselves, considering we killed the character at the end of the first one. But that's not necessarily going to stop us."
"There have been stranger things happen out of Hollywood... There's a sort of 'What happens in the after-life?' question."
As of now, no script seems to be in the works so we can only wait and see.

Gladiator was a great film, but why film a seque??? Plus, HOW do they plan on bringing Russel Crowe back?
I'm smelling an Alec Guiness style role. "Luke, you must defeat Caesar! Use the force...use the force."
