Russell for Fast 7?

In talks for role in sequel

By Robert T. Trate     September 02, 2013

Variety broke the exclusive news that Kurt Russell (Escape from New York, Death Proof) is in talks to for the Fast and the Furious sequel.

“After bringing out a fresh face in UFC star Ronda Rousey to join the cast of ‘Fast & Furious 7,’ Universal has moved onto veteran actor to join its acting ranks with Kurt Russell in negotiations to join the next installment”.

The strange part is Russell, if he does take the role, would take a role originally offered to Denzel Washington. Ironically enough, Russell’s last big role was that of Stuntman Mike in Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof. A role where he played a madman who killed people with a car. Personally, I’ll take Russell over Washington any day.

More Kurt Russell in anything is a good thing. He must really love his time offf because he sure as hell needs to be in more movies and I doubt that the reason is a lack of opportunities

Is it ironic that Russell was madman car driver stuntntman or isn't  that just coincidence? Ironic would've been if Denzel had turned down the Death Proof role before Russell got it, right?  Fucking Alanis Moirsette and her grammar muddled up that word to the chagrin of the English language ;)

So Tango is gonna be in this movie? Or was he Cash? I forget.

He was Gabrielle Cash.

What about Lucas Black reprising his role ? It would be lame if that didn't happen.

WTF...of course Washinton would never be a part of that franchise. FF is for actors who have been out of work for years and need a paycheck (Michelle Rodriguez). FF has become way to mainstream, they killed off two of the characters just so they could add big names. Next thing you know they will kill of Paul Walker because we have to admit, Walker does not do anything except these films. What was the last film Walker was in? And even so he doesn't do too many per year.

Love Kurt Russell. Id see him in anything.

Surprised he would say no to Expendables, but then say yes to Fast and Furious franchise. but I guess it is still about money and that serious is bringing in big bucks

slayerfaith - it wasnt a big movie or anything but Running Scared with Paul Walker was pretty great. Dark and gritty movie, worst night ever, where one bad thing happens after the next

I believe there's lingering bad blood between Russell and Stallone from the Tango and Cash days.
