Saw Ice Age 2 on a date - it's a kids movie.

I'd like to see United 93, but I'd rather watch it at home on my TV in a personal setting due to its theme.

Akeelah and the Bee looks like a good date movie.
Benchwarmers is something to bring the scouters to.

Other than that, not too keen on seeing any of the others.

And looks like "Lucky Number Slevin" disappeared off the list... it wasn't too bad of a movie. Oh well.

I haven't really been to the movies since Inside Man came out. MI:3 comes out this week and a lot of blockbusters fallow. I read on Bluetights.net that a new Superman trailer will be attached with MI:3.

United 93 was a tough movie to watch for all the obvious reasons. I saw it with a group of friends and it ended up being the topic of conversation all night ranging from "I wonder if it really happened that way" to "I'd like to think I'd do the same thing in that situation" to "Damn Arabs; we should make the middle east a big sheet of glass" to "would God really want them to do all of this?" Was it too soon after 9/11 for this film? Not for me, because anything that can spark debate like this is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. The thing I worry about is the families affected by Flight 93.

On a fun note, I also saw RV over the weekend, and while it wasn't a good movie, it was a lot of fun and I liked seeing Robin Williams doing a funny film again. After United 93 Friday night I needed mindless laughs Saturday afternoon.

The bottom dropped out of Silent Hill. I guess that's to be expected for its genre. i thought The Wild would have a bigger take.

I'm getting excited that the summer movie season is almost here! There are so many movies I want to see over the next four months.

My girlfriend and I intended to go see either Silent Hill or United 93, yes I know two very different flicks, but we didn't make the theatre this weekend.

I'm glad to see 'United' had a strong showing but surprised in the flip/flop positions of "RV"&"The Wild". Now I had no interest in either due to RV being the unbilled "Vacation" remake and "The Wild" being Madagascar in reverse but would've thought kids might drag their parents to the Wild over teens/20somethings going to RV.

I wouldn't mind seeing Akeelah and the Bee on DVD. It looks good and interesting, just not $20 date night material.

No big dollars this weekend. I'm glad may is here. Bring on the big movies.

Eventually, 'Flight 93' will get remade with the forces of freedom and democracy kicking those al-Qaeda chumps off the plane, averting the historical crash. (Can't you see a close-up bicep shot of Vin Diesel or The Rock intoning the "Let's roll" catch-phrase associated w/ this flight?) They'll use the song "America, Fuck Yeah" from the "Team America - World Police" soundtrack in the background.

But seriously, will any film reviewer have anything less than complementary, glowing reviews of this flick? Can you imagine the lynching that critic would get at the hands of the Fox talk show pundits, or some other similar-leaning media outlet?

Give Hillary C. a shot at directing and maybe her version will show the entire event as though nothing ever happened...

SUPERMAN TRAILER CONFIRMED WITH M:I:III
ComingSoon.net's Superhero Hype! has confirmed that the new Superman Returns trailer will be enclosed in the can with Paramount's Mission: Impossible III, opening next Friday, May 5th and will also be attached to all prints of WB's Poseidon the following week, on Friday, May 12th.

Warner Bros. has the trailer listed as 2 minutes and 28 seconds. Theaters will have access to it in digital format, so if you have the chance to catch Mission: Impossible III on a digital screen (it's going out to 135 digital theaters), then definitely do so!

MARVEL MOVIE SLATE
Marvel Studios’ Chairman, Avi Arad has confirmed a bevy of directors and writers for many of its upcoming feature film projects. Marvel has begun discussions with other talent and visual effects houses for these movies and expects to release the first picture of this new slate of movies in 2008. These projects are expected to be financed with Marvel's $525 million revolving film financing facility and distributed under Marvel's overall distribution deal with Paramount, except for The Incredible Hulk which will be distributed under an earlier pact with Universal.

* Adding to last weeks news that Jon Favreau (Elf, Zathura) has been signed to direct and develop the movie version of Iron Man, writers for the project are Arthur Marcum and Matt Holloway (Convoy).
* The new Incredible Hulk movie will be written by Zak Penn. Penn previously collaborated with Marvel on X2, Fantastic Four, and the upcoming release X-Men: The Last Stand.
* The movie adaptation of Ant Man will be directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz). Wright will co-write the movie with his partner Joe Cornish, and co-produce the movie with his partner Nira Park.
* David Self (Thirteen Days, Road to Perdition) will serve as writer for Captain America, based on Marvel's American super soldier. Self has also worked with Marvel on Namor, the Sub-Mariner (Universal) and Deathlok (Paramount).
* Nick Fury, super hero and spy, will feature a screenplay by Andrew Marlowe (Air Force On, End of Days, Hollow Man)
* The movie based on Thor, the star of Norse mythology, will feature the work of screenwriter Mark Protosevich (Poseidon, The Cell).

Actually, it Clinton's version would show that it takes a village and socialized health care to defeat the terrorists.
