An interesting rumor making rounds around the Internet is that Ryan Phillippe is a possible choice as Harvey Dent in the upcoming BATMAN BEGINS sequel.

This is just a rumor, he has not been confirmed in the role. Another name that has been dangled is Liev Schreiber.

Harvey Dent would likely be a friend of Batman's in the upcoming film, only to turn into Two Face in the third installment.

This may be an "interesting" rumor, but it's frightening as all hell. Phillipe is an awful actor, and he's proven that in several different films, te most recent being last year's receipient of the "WTF? Oscar" (which was perhaps more noticable given back in 1991 with THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS) CRASH. What a steaming pile. But leave it to the bleeding-heart Angelenos to award a parable about racism, which we've seen a hundred times before, than to a more deserving film, which was ANY of the other 4 films. BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN would have won if it included HIV.

Thanks for letting me get out my 2 cents on the politics of Oscar.

Regardless, this casting should NEVER happen, and I trust Chris Nolan to see that it never does. After due consideration, Heath Ledger is a good choice (arguably not the best) to play The Joker. He at least is an extremely talented actor.

As far as Dent is concerned, Liev Schreiber is also a very good actor, but not quite the "Apollo" Harvey Dent that is necessary. I still am holding out hopes for Guy Pearce.

Wow...good pick of Guy Pearce as Two Face. I would not have thought of him but his personality switching in Memento gave a glimpse he would be great in that role. Ryan Phillipe made a good victim in the teeny bopper slasher movies or the boytoy in some of those college flicks he did. But he should just stay at home and be a daddy now and let Reese bring home the bacon. Heath would be okay as Joker...but someone else had a good suggestion on another post. Wish I could remember who it was.

On the Oscar thing. The Oscars suck! Second, Crash was an extremely good movie and I`ll have words with any who disagree. If you live in L.A. or any large city for that matter, with such a mixed population then you would understand it. If you live in a town or city consisting of mostly one ethnicity or another, then you may not relate to this flick. I personally, did, being black and living in New York. L.A. was a great backdrop and was also pretty mucha character in the movie, like NYC usually becomes in most flicks. Crash was easily one of the best movie last year.
On another note, Phillipe is not a great actor, even though I did like him in Cruel Intentions and Way of the Gun. He would not be my choice for Harvey Dent. Guy Pierce would be very cool. We'd be getting into an all English/Australian cast with that which is fine with me. Oldman , Bale, Caine, Pearce and Ledger.

Wasn't Ryan Phillippe in the running to be Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars prequels?

With all the talent had in Batman Begins (Neeson, Caine, Freeman, Wilkinson, Oldman, Bale, and Watanabe), I feel like Phillipe is too young for the role (and too much the "pretty boy"). Look-wise, he's more suited for one of the Spiderman films than this fresh new start to the Batman series.

Ahh...NOW I remember. I always thought Walton Goggins of "the Shield" would be a great Joker. Great actor, and Hollywood needs to reach out past the top 20 actors for every role handed out. I am still having dry heaves over the Tom Cruise -Iron Man rumours.

He does look a bit like a young Tommy Lee Jones. Other than that I can't see him as a serious ADA but then again BB rocked so lets let Nolan do his magic again.

I know it is a restart of the movie franchise but, it is just awfull that as serious as moving picture can be. Me at my age, will be spectator of such a monstruosity. If he is indeed cast. Face it, Harvey Dent has been played played on screen by BILLY DEE WILLIAMS!!!(Burton's Batman for the one who don't remember) By Jones with a performences that was closer to Joker then to Dent's " en ce qui me concerne". It is almost to much, but like someone else said. Nolan will find the way. I would personnally give the jokers role to "BOMB VOYAGES" he did give a hard time to mister Incredible.

NO, HE IS NOT.

I think Ryan Philipee could be a good Harvey Dent, but I don't think he'd be a good Two Face and really that's the more important role.

Any somewhat decent actor could pull off Harvey Dent. Suaw is right, the more important part of the role is Two Face. I don't think Ryan can be a believable Two Face, but if its true, I will have faith in Nolan. I didn't think Topher would be a good Eddie Brock, but so far it seems to be coming along well.
