Ryder digesting MARY WARNER role

Actress Winona Ryder is reuniting with her HEATHERS helmer Michael Lehmann on the new low budget comedy MARY WARNER. The dark-haired leading lady will play a struggling actress that, after accidentally eating a batch of marijuana-laced brownies that her stoner roommate made, has a series of disturbing but amusing adventures. The script is by Dylan Haggarty and filming is scheduled to commence on January 15, 2005 in Los Angeles.

This is Ryder's first major film work since her much publicized trial and conviction for shoplifting.
