In an interesting new marketing strategy, New Line Cinema is producing websites for fake films, but ones which play a big role in S1M0NE, the new Al Pacino film about a producer who conquers Hollywood with a CGI actress.

The new site for the film, which comes out August 23, also sports a fake filmography, magazine articles, a 'biography' and media gallery.

This slick bit of blurring the line between the film's story and the real studio's need to push the film comes on the heels of its AUSTIN POWERS promotion, which had a computer, in the guise of Powers, instant message surfers on the Internet.

We don't usually point readers to every film site that pops up, but this one might be something to see.
