A deal has been struck between Paramount Pictures and Archie Comics that will see the pair co-produce a live action SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH feature film. While Paramount Television recently ended production of a SABRINA TV series (which starred Melissa Joan Hart as the spellbound character), there's been no mention that the actors that starred in the TV series would reprise their characters in the film.
Archie Comics President Allan Grafman and CEO Chuck Grimes will serve as producers on the film while the company's Chairman, Michael Silberkleit, and its President, Richard Goldwater, will receive executive producer credits. Paramount and Archie Comics will split the monies made from the movie's licensing revenues. "While the movie will be empowering for girls, it is going to have the action and science-fiction fantasy that appeals to boys," stated Grafman.
