This is all old news. Moon Chase (moon-chase.blogspot.com) has been reporting this since last year.

ICv2 is reporting that Toei Animation has started to loosen it's grip on the Sailor Moon franchise by licensing the series in Italy to Backstage, a company which will handle the property’s rights in publishing, TV, and merchandising. Sailor Moon saw a revival last year in Japan with the series being broadcast again, which is the first time in quite awhile. The franchise has had a checkered history in the US with its initial releases being done by DIC, which was heavily edited and toned down with most episodes. ADV Films released both the dub-only editions of that series as well as a subtitled-only box set for the fans who wanted it uncut and in its original form. Pioneer/Geneon also released some Sailor Moon titles with the S and Super S series alongside a few of the movies. Sailor Moon Sailor Stars never saw a US release though and for the last few years, most US companies have indicated that Toei Animation was not interested in licensing any of the series for US distribution, with some believing that they wanted the focus to be completely on the live action series that was being aired at that time.
As expected, nobody is commenting on the possibility of a US release, though it's certainly possible that we'd see the franchise attempted again and possibly even the manga finding a new life. For many fans today, Sailor Moon was their gateway introduction to anime as children, much as a previous generation discovered anime later in life after watching Robotech or Starblazers as children.

The only way this could be a hit is if it starts airing on american tv again. I don't see that Happening anytime soon.
