Salli Richardson and Alice Braga join I AM LEGEND

According to BlackFilm.com, Salli Richardson and Alice Braga have signed on to join Will Smith in the cast of I AM LEGEND.

In the film, Neville (Smith) is the last living man on Earth ... but he is not alone. Every other man, woman, and child has become a vampire, and they are all hungry for Neville's blood. By day, he is the hunter, stalking the sleeping undead through the abandoned ruins of civilization. By night, he barricades himself in his home and prays for the dawn. How long can one man survive in a world full of vampires?

Richardson will play Ginny, the wife of Smith's character, while Braga will play Anna.

The Warner Bros. film will be directed by Francis Lawrence for release on November 21, 2007.

I'm really looking forward to this film. While I'm sure it's not going to be a straight adaptation of the book, I think Francis Lawrence will craft a great-looking film. I thought Constantine had a terrific feel.

wessmith, I agree, Constantine(although a major departure from Hellblazer) still kept the best bits and was real fun to watch, which I did not expect at all. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one.

Hot is good. I thought Constantine was great. One of the better comic adaptations in a while. Maybe not a slave to the source material, but from what I had seen, I thought Lawrence did an excellent job keeping the spirit of the character. I think that's more important than if he had blonde hair...

I personally thought Constantine was great, but a large number of people I know who usually like stuff in the genre hated it (perhaps it was Keanu) so I'm not sure this is a good thing as far as the film doing well. Having Will Smith in it also does not bode well. However hope springs eternal and hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I really liked Constantine, even though it was pretty different from the graphic Novel. It was well made. I just started reading I AM LEGEND at its pretty freakin cool. I kind of wish they would be a little more faithful to that than Omega Man. I AM LEGEND is a lot more darker which Lawrence seems to be able to pull or pretty well.

I liked Constantine as well. I think this movie will have a good scare/creep factor with a bunch of cool thrown in.
Plus Salli Richardson. Wow. Do I have to say any more. (Wonder if she can act?)

Everyone liked Constantine-I liked the look and feel of it, but I just wasn't digging Keanu. First it was Schwarzeneggar (sorry if I spelled wrong) as Neville, now it's Will Smith?! No, I just don't see it, nor am I feeling it. I just don't think that bodes well (like gazelle024-I agree), Salli Richardson? Eh, she's okay, no breadwinner. Alicia Braga has done 2 movies that have been released in the States. I just don't know about this people. I am a fond lover of Richard Matheson. I own everything he's written. Stir of Echoes-yes...Will Smith in I Am Legend? No. I just imagined it to be more like 28 Days Later-which, if done the same, will garner comparisons. Has anyone seen the original with Vincent Price? *That* was great. Loved that, this I gotta see to believe.

this news is better than the other I AM LEGEND news... where actors like Ted Turner and Lucille Ball, Conan O'Brian, Bill Gates, Lee Harvey Oswald, George Lucas, Coolio, Ben Vereen, Jackie Chan, Benny Youngman, George Takai, Brent Ratner, Stacy Keach, Pam Anderson, Sally Struthers, Dustin Hoffman, Betty Davis, Humphrey Bogart, Lorne Greene, Lloyd Bridges and Jet Li are NOT in I Am Legend.
