Salmon Returns to RE

Colin Salmon returning for Resident Evil: Retribution.

It seems that Sienna Guillory and Milla Jovovich won't be the only actors from the first two Resident Evil installments set for a return to the franchise out of Screen Gems. Shock Til You Drop reports that actor Colin Salmon---team leader "One" in the original film---has confirmed to his fans via Twitter that he's also set for a reappearance in next year's Resident Evil: Retribution.

He tweeted "Confirmed I will be shooting new Resident Evil movie. Paul Anderson has written an amazing script."

The question remains on how he will return or in what context. As many of you will remember, the character was on the business end of that popular laser sequence in the first zombie tale.

Whatever the scenario here, his revelation brings the confirmed cast to three with Jovovich and Guillory reprising Alice and Jill Valentine. Previous stars Ali Larter and Wentworth Miller will likely be returning to play the Redfields as well but neither have been confirmed at this point. Director Paul W.S. Anderson will once again be directing, based on a script he wrote.

Resident Evil: Retribution flies into theaters September 14, 2012.

Skroin 9/13/2011 7:55:38 AM can this be?

Did Umbrella come in, pick up all the pieces, sew him back together and then inject him with the virus?

I just don't get it.

Sure it's not stated if he will be infected or not but that's my only guess I can come up with.....and's a far stretch to make sense out of it.

Colin Salmon lost me at "Paul Anderson has written an amazing script."  Those six words do not all belong together in the same sentence, unless he left out "...where the paper can be better used as paper airplanes" on the end of it.

What the hell??? Didn't he get turned into swiss chesse?? The one thing i never understood about this franchise is that capcom already had characters already in place why for the life of me don't hollywood understand it IF IT'S NOT BROKE DON'T FIX IT!!

Flashback sequence? That's all I have.

TheMovieGuy28 9/13/2011 10:06:11 AM

Nice. Honestly, I always love it when the black guy doesn't bite it. Admit it guys, we all saw the sequence the first time and thought he'd beat it with that last jump, then the fraggin thing turned into a tron grid. He needed to live!

Kind of like the dude in Jason X. Sure, Jason takes him out with two good machete stabs, but the dude shows up later at the right moment and rides uberjason's ass tandem style into earth.

Score one for the black guys!

TheMovieGuy28 - Book of Eli man. Or any Denzel movie for that matter. ;) Denzel kicks ass. Too bad they did not do a Black Panther movie when he was younger.

I would probably say FLASHBACK!!!  Maybe something else happened with our heroine and Salmon's character.  We'll have to wait and see.

I have a feeling it will be a flashback sequence, or they could go the whole we cloned our better Umbrella Operatives and infected them with the virus, Salmon could play like Mr. X or something, a mutant bodyguard/thug for the Umbrella company.  If they put him in a bodysuit or Colin Salmon really bulked up and they shaved his head and gave him some sunglasses I could see him being Mr. X, I mean heck he's really the only boss monster they have not used to an extent so far.

In the first the boss was the Licker/Hunter

In the second it was Nemesis

In the third it was a version of the Tyrant

In the fourth it was the Executioner and Wesker

So I could see Mr. X being used in the fifth film.
