Sam Neill knows nothing about "Jurassic Park 4"

Last we heard about Jurassic Park 4 was that Joe Johnston would direct from a script by William Monahan.  Yesterday, the LA Daily News caught up with Sam Neill, star of Jurassic Park 1 and 3, and he had this to say:

"I know nothing about it. I haven't heard from anyone."

He later added that any reports saying he will star are false.

KJ's Take:  Meh, they did the second film without him, and I could care less if he comes back for 4.  I just hope they do something cool with a concept that is amazing.  Gonna be tough o make it fresh though ...

The only scene I found myself liking in Jurassic Park 2 was the T-Rex roaming through the streets of... well, some city in the US... was that even number 2? I'm pretty sure it was....

The first Jurassic Park was great and the others are largely forgettable. I don't think any of us will lose any sleep if there isn't a fourth one.

loss any sleep? I haven`t slept since the 3rd one and won`t until they give me a 4th installment!

I actually 2 to be okay. I like Jeff Goldblum. He`s a funny dude. I almost forgot that Vince Vaughn was in it, but he wasn`t very funny. The 3rd one was just a waste of celluloid.

Where's the "news" discussing how Michael Crichton feels about JP4? (Just sayin' that I'd hardly consider this to be news.)

Man, the whole thing is so tired -- JP was a phenomenal book which translated into a great movie; after that, it went downhill quick: "The Lost World" read like a quickly-conceived cash-in, which the film then couldn't even be bothered to follow beyond the first 25 minutes or so. If you want to think JP3 was great, that's fine, but in that case, JP4 should have Jean-Claude Van Damme kickboxing with the raptors or something: it'd have about as much to offer plot-wise, and give you just about as much of an action fix.

As far as great films go Jurassic Park has always been one of my favorites. The sequels were just fun to watch and I look forward to another installment.

I liked 3.... I must have been drunk....

Liked JP, hated 2, didn't bother to see 3.
I like Sam Neill. Glad to see he has nothing to do with this project; hope he keeps it that way.

I like the idea of PETA getting involved for dinosaur rights.... and then the dinosaurs eat them.

If this is just another dinosaurs on the rampage movie, I think it will tank. They need a new idea to keep it fresh. For example...

The sun is low on the horizon as the camera pans over the remains of Jurassic Park. The camera moves out into the dense jungle, and we can see the outlines of moving shapes in the failing light.

We hear a narrator’s voice: “After the public cried out for vengeance, only a few of the Jurassic monsters managed to escape death. Man came with heavily armed helicopters and tanks, and the island streams and rivers ran red with the blood of dinosaurs. But in his relentless lust for vengeance, it never occurred to anyone that the genetic experiments on this island only started with the dinosaurs. They could not have guessed that there was another species that had been spawned on this island, a new species that shared its dinosaur DNA with the most deadly predator on the planet Earth...”

In the darkness a baby cries out in the throes of birth.

“...man.”
