While promoting '30 Days of Night', producer and 'Spider-Man' director Sam Raimi fielded questions about the fate of the 'Spider-Man' franchise. Collider.com has the scoop:
[Raimi said they] have had a number of screenwriters coming in and pitching ideas for the Spider-Man series...but nothing is figured out yet. Then I asked him since 'Spider-Man 4' was still far away from happening...would he consider directing something else in the meanwhile. He said he literally just wrapped the 'Spider-Man 3' DVD a few weeks ago and this was the first time he's been unemployed for awhile and he's loving it.
The intrepid Collider reporter continued to press Raimi after the conference was over.
I then asked if he would be more inclined to come back for one movie or would a new trilogy be the thing that got him back into another Spider-Man movie. He said it all depends on the story. If the story was strong enough he would come back for either a single film or a new trilogy.
