According to the Hollywood Reporter, Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington are in negotiations to co-star in the upcoming thriller, Lakeview Terrace.

The film, based on a script from David Loughery, centers on a black LAPD officer (Jackson) who will stop at nothing to force out the interracial couple who just moved in next door. Washington would play the female half of the couple.

No director has signed on as of yet and a white male lead is still needed.  Shooting is expected to get underway in May.

KJ's Take:  Interesting to note that Will Smith is producing this film via his own shingle, not that I think it will make a difference.  I've never been a big fan of Jackson, sure he has some damn fine movies, but it's all a matter of odds.  With the amount of films he does every year, he was bound to luck out and be part of a few good ones here and there.  The vast majority of his films are utter garbage, and I've made it a point never to see any of them in theaters.  DVD if it gets good reviews, nothing more.

But hey, more power to the guy, he's enjoyed one hell of a career and has about 70 movies to his name.  He's obviously a big fan of trial and error.

I do not agree, That s guy is cool ! I like the way he act, and he always do something makes the movie better ! Think the movie deep blue sea without him ! Beside, that s guy is a real actor, mean s he work ! So he makes movie for living, sometimes good movie and sometimes bad movie, but he takes his job for what it is ! And I like the guy show himself in the movie like he really is on the real world, not a flat stomach like all the others who passed hours on the gym and eat advocato for stay fit !

Yeah, the dude KJ is full of caca. Sam Jackson is one of my favorite actors. The dude takes ho hum movies and makes them fun. Take Snake on a Plane. That would've been B movie garbage if he wasn't in it. "I'm tired of these muthafu**in snakes on this muthafu**in plane!!!" Classic lines all the time.

I agree with exfan. Jackson is one of those actors whose presence eclipses the screen in whatever he does. You KNOW he's there, even if he doesn't talk. And he can probably take over the job of hardest working man in show business because he works so much. This can create a hit or miss situation in whether the movie is any good, but Jackson is always good.
And I believe exfan has said before that English is not his first language, so give him a break. You need practice in order to learn and this is as good a place as any to learn.

Now *this* is a move I can get jacked about! We've seen SLJ play a cool, badass MF-er a million times, but he rarely plays just a flat out dick. Hope they treat this like a real movie and not a made-for-Lifetime B-movie. Also, agree with monkeyfoot. Lay off exfan. And finally, Kerry Washington is indeed a hottie! Sssssmokin'!

Sam is awesome. Fantastic actor...great big screen presence. Sure, he's made a few lemons, but for every Formula 51 there is a Pulp Fiction also. Kurt Russell is one of my faves, but he did Captain Ron or whatever.
Also, mark me as one of those who looks forward to exfan's posts. I think the manner in which he writes is endearing. I don't know if anyone has seen Deathklok Metalocalypse, but exfan writes like Toki Wartooth talks.

Sorry, KJ, but this is another instance where your "commentary" just wasn't needs (and to a greater extent is just plain WRONG).

Samuel L. Jackson is one of the finest actors in Hollywood...and one of the greatest black actors alive. You want to know why he's in so many movies? Because he's in such demand.

What does it take for someone to recognize the obvious? Apparently, too much.

You've got to love Sam. And Kerry Washington, wow, very Hot.

Oh and mlaforcer, I agree with the others. Lay off exfan. His posts are fine, but if you enjoy getting drunk and reading them that could be fun too.
