According to the Hollywood Reporter, Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington are in negotiations to co-star in the upcoming thriller, Lakeview Terrace.
The film, based on a script from David Loughery, centers on a black LAPD officer (Jackson) who will stop at nothing to force out the interracial couple who just moved in next door. Washington would play the female half of the couple.
No director has signed on as of yet and a white male lead is still needed. Shooting is expected to get underway in May.
KJ's Take: Interesting to note that Will Smith is producing this film via his own shingle, not that I think it will make a difference. I've never been a big fan of Jackson, sure he has some damn fine movies, but it's all a matter of odds. With the amount of films he does every year, he was bound to luck out and be part of a few good ones here and there. The vast majority of his films are utter garbage, and I've made it a point never to see any of them in theaters. DVD if it gets good reviews, nothing more.
But hey, more power to the guy, he's enjoyed one hell of a career and has about 70 movies to his name. He's obviously a big fan of trial and error.
