That just sucks. I want the FF to play in the same sandbox as The Avengers. I dream of a day when Spidey, the FF and the X-Men are all under one umbrella. Sigh.

Several months ago we all began speculating on what Matthew Vaughn’s next project would be. Many of us, myself included, thought it would be Star Wars Episode VII. The Wrap is reporting that the director of Kick-Ass and Stardust is now the producer of the new Fantastic Four movie.
“Matthew Vaughn, writer and director of Kick-Ass and X-Men: First Class, will produce The Fantastic Four, Fox's upcoming reboot of the comic book-based film franchise, a studio spokesperson told TheWrap”.
Vaughn will only produce the film at this stage. He has yet to land his next directorial job. Vaughn has a great history with both Fox and Marvel as he directed X-Men First Class and is producing its sequel with Bryan Singer (X-Men) directing.

I wonder if there are any legalities that prevents FOX from allowing the Marvel characters to cross over in their films. Like Spidey making an appearance in FF? Probably.
Best news I've heard of any FF movie ever. Now let's see what they actually turn out, but this is a move in the right direction.
In a sense, Marvel's early decision to farm out their properties to other studios is working against them now. I definitely want to see Spider-Man under Marvel Studios. That dream situation calls for the rehiring of Sam Raimi and his original cast.
From memory Spidey rights are owned by Sony, not Fox, so it'd be a different set of negotiations. Also from memory Kevin Feige or Avi Arad or someone like that made a coy comment about Spidey possibly crossing over, some time ago.
I don't live or worry about this big "Marvel movies under one roof" dream. All I ever want is great movies made period. Vaughn having worked with Fox's Marvel consultant Mark Millar already makes good sense that he would recruit him.
Here's hoping for great movies out of this.
And here comes another big, steamy pile of Fox.
