It looks like Santa is dropping the presents, grabbing the guns and taking on zombies in THE LAST CHRISTMAS, says Hollywood Reporter. The comic book, created by  Brian Posehn and Gerry Duggan, is getting adapted to the big screen in the near future by Hollywood Gang productions. This is the same production company behind 300. While no writer has yet been chosen for the screenplay, Gianni Nunnari will produce and Craig J. Flores will executive produce.

Plot Concept: The story follows Santa Claus as he withdraws from normal life and turns his back on Christmas. When he emerges from seclusion, he has to find a way to save the world, and Christmas, from being overrun by demons, zombies and other bad guys.

Now this sounds awesome. Santa being bad ass and effing shit up.....How can this possibly be bad? Get like a real wise-ass bad-ass to play Snata and it will be awesome. I can see like A Clive Owen from Shoot 'Em Up as Santa. Or Paul Giammati. I know he is playing Santa is Fred Claus, but that just doesn't look funny to me, and I love Vince Vaughn and Paul.

This makes me wish that movie from Scrooged was made. "The Day the Reindeer died". Six million dollar man movie! That would have kicked ass! I still remember Steve holding that huge gat gun at the end of the trailer.

That was indeed awesome, Dazzler! Has me chuckle everytime I see it and Scooged doesn't ever come on enough.

I guess I'm in the minority, but I think this is the dumbest idea for a movie I've heard in a long time. It has some comic potential, but I'll pass.

No your not. Really, is anyone even going to take this movie serouis, or for that matter go see it? Please let this one die before it gets off.

I think it sounds pretty decent. One thing I read that isn't in this article - Variety reports that Santa withdraws from normal life after the world basically blows itself up in a nuclear war. He's not just going on vacation. Hell, at least it's somewhat original.

It's original, comical, perverted and just f***ing awesome. But this kind of movie will only get a small cult following, so don't expect a big budget state of the art effects movie.
