A quick casting update on Saw 3. Bahar Soomekh and Angus MacFadyen have been inked to co-star in the upcoming film alongside the returning Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith and Dina Meyer.

The film is set to start principle photography in Toronto and should wrap by the end of next month. Saw 3 is directed by Darren Lynn Bousman and will be released on Halloween.

"We're tickled red about bringing a new cycle of Jigsaw's bloody inventions to horror fans all over the world," said Peter Block, Lionsgate president of acquisitions and co-productions. "Darren, Leigh and James are cooking up a twisted gem that promises to be the most nightmarish 'Saw' yet."

I really enjoyed the first 2, but there going to have to work hard to keep this one from seeming formulaic.

I really like Saw 1. I hate Saw 2. There wasn't anyone to root for, and I saw the "twist" a mile away (or is that an hour ahead?). Hopefully they can make Saw 3 back up to the caliber of the first.

Saw was great except that it was too reminicent of seven and the ending "twist" was pure crap. Part two was more a movie of its own and better, but the ending twist was EVEN more crap. I think these writers are great but when it comes to concluding movies they just can't do it.

the only thing that i didn't like about part 2 was that it wasn't scary. probably because u already knew who the bad guy and everything it was more of what's going on and how r they going to get out of it. so maybe the third one is going to be like that since we already know that its the girls turn now.

Anyone else noticed the only one to seem to ever survive the game, was someone who didn't have to hurt themselves they had to hurt someone else?

Well in the first one at least.

I agree with rocker0486, part 2 wasn`t really scary. I mean it was cool to see how they were going to get out of it or not, but I was no way as surprised at the end then I was in the 1st one. Hopefully, they can step their game up.

Hell, I wasn't particularly thrilled with Saw or Saw II...I got dragged to both with friends. But doesn't Saw III seemed rushed? Principal photography hasn't even started yet but we can expect filming to be finished by the end of next month? They REALLY want this thing out by Halloween, don't they?

Movies like this don't take very long. Plus, back in the Dark Ages, they would pump out a movie every week in the studio lots (back when actors were pretty much indentured servants to the studios).
