SAW IV Picture & Plot Details Emerge

If you don't want to be spoiled on some plot details whether Jigsaw is alive or dead, I wouldn't click on this article, Maniacs. Alright now that the disclaimer is out of the way, here's some details and a picture. MTV had a chance to sit down and talk with Saw IV director  Darren Lynn Bousman and star Tobin Bell.

They both confirmed that Jigsaw is indeed dead. They also tell MTV that Saw IV will take place in chronological order after the previous three installments. Does this mean that leading star Tobin Bell (Jigsaw) gets less screen time now? Nope, according to the director and Bell. He gets as much screen time as he did in the other Saw films. Obviously, this poses some questions for horror fans whom watched Saw III last year. How? That question isn't answered by them. Figures, right?

Here's the first released photo of Saw IV. See if you can see the details in the picture below:

89:16 to see what he sees.

Tobin Bell, Lyriq Bent, Shawnee Smith, Costas Mandylor return as characters. Darren Lynn Bousman directs while original Saw director James Wan helps produce it. Saw IV hits theaters everywhere on October 26, 2007 right before Halloween.

Wow, is this ever going to suck!! Why do they keep making these poor excuses of film??

This whole series, needs to be burned and then crapped on, and then this might be decent....

Seems pretty obvious to me that his appearances will likely be from various recordings he left behind (Perhaps Camcorders?). Much like the way he always leaves the voice recorders around.

Will be seeing this opening day I really enjoy the Saw franchise.

Pathetic. Clearly, this franchise has jumped the shark. But, so long as torture porn deviants pay to see this crap, it'll be happy to jump, jump jump away. Maybe next they'll offer up Jigsaw vs. Freddy. Or Jigsaw vs. Jason. Ooo! In outer space! Jigsaw vs. Jason vs. Freddy vs. Predator! Jigsaw vs. Jason vs. Freddy vs. Predator vs. Aliens vs. Spawn of Chucky! In outer space! They can call it JVJVFVPVAVSOC! Sweet! I'm so there on opening day! Outer space torture porn gets me turned on!

The sheer fact that James Wan and Leigh Whannell will not be writing this sequel is enough to push me away from ever seeing it. I thought Saw 3 was a fitting end to the series but was pissed that they are planning fifth Saw film to come out next year after Saw 4 is out. Call me naive, but I still believe in the "less is more" philosophy.

I also thought III was a fine way to end it, though am interested in how will they further the background storyline.

Note: the above negative comments jumped the shark after their first line.

I agree with the first comment...they ruined it. Saw 1 and 2 were fine, Saw 3 sucked balls...and im pretty sure Saw 4 is the same way...I'll rent it on DVD. i wont waste 10 bucks.... I need gas money. haha

Eh, I'll give it a whirl. I enjoyed the previous films well enough.

I guess you can just label me as a "torture porn deviant" who "pays to see crap."

I love name-calling and intolerance. Wheee.

I liked Saw 1-3 and I thought it would end, but hey if they have another decent story to tell then that`s fine. I`ll probably rent it , but what do I know. I`m a torture porn deviant.

Based on recommendations from the fine folks here at Mania, I added Saw to my Netflix queue, and watched it over the weekend.
My wife liked it (what she saw of it through her fingers), and I enjoyed it. The plot twists, the tension, and the underlying message about appreciating life was refreshingly different from standard slasher fare.
I think I'll add the remaining films to my queue, but there's still many other films I need to see, and I don't think the series is so great that I should bump them.
Thanks to everybody who recommended this to me!

But, Merin, your own profile states:

"I call things as I see them, with no ulterior motives or agendas. I like what I like, don't like what I don't like, and care little who disagrees."

So, are you being intolerant of my calling it as I see it?
