We have yet another addition to Zack Snyder's Man of Steel production, with Variety reporting that Richard Schiff ("The West Wing") has been added to the cast. While the trade only confirms that Schiff is playing a character named "Dr. Hamilton," Superman fans across the web will remember that previous comics and the animated series utilized a character named Professor Emil Hamilton, often in connection to the top-secret research laboratory S.T.A.R. Labs. In the comics, the character began as a scientist and was eventually turned into a villain by the name of Ruin. Feel free to speculate down below whether Schiff is playing that "Hamilton" or whether the name is just a coincidence...
The actor will be joined by co-stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Russell Crowe, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Harry Lennix and Laurence Fishburne. Director Zack Snyder is currently shooting the production in Vancouver and Chicago. Writers David S. Goyer and Jonathan Nolan penned the screenplay.
